SESAME SEEDS

Sesame seeds rank highest in cholesterol-lowering phytosterols of nearly all nuts, seeds, legumes and grains. Phytosterols are plant sterols structurally similar to cholesterol that act in the intestine to lower cholesterol absorption.

SOYA BEANS

Soybeans are rich in copper and iron. Both are essential for the red blood cell formation. Increased red blood cell production increases oxygen to the cells and improves the metabolic activity.

CHICKPEAS

Chickpeas are made up of about 27 percent carbohydrates. A 1-cup serving of chickpeas contains 14.5 grams of protein, 4.3 grams of fat and 45 grams of carbohydrates. Although 7.9 grams of these carbohydrates are sugars, another 12.5 grams comes from dietary fiber, which helps limit the effect of chickpeas on blood sugar levels.

GREEN MUNG BEAN

Green mung beans are:

► Easily digestible
► Anti-inflammatory (can reduce inflammation)
► Containing oligosaccharides to prevent gas and bloating, unlike other beans
► Containing high amounts of fiber, thereby preventing constipation

KIDNEY BEANS
